JESUS CHRIST CONTROLS HISTORY

A. Jesus Christ has direct control of human history through divine power. This is the type of power mentioned in Deut 33:26, “There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, who rides the heavens to help you, and in His majesty He rides through the skies.”

B. Jesus Christ has indirect control of human history because of divine establishment. There are nations that follow the laws of divine establishment and continue to survive and are even blessed by God through establishment principles.

C. Jesus Christ controls history through the hostility of mankind. In Ps 76:10, God uses the wrath of man to praise Him. The rise of Joseph Stalin and Adolph Hilter are excellent examples.

D. Jesus Christ controls history with legal control through liability to the laws of volitional responsibility.

1. This is the principle of the sovereignty of God and the free will of mankind co-existing in human history to resolve the prehistoric angelic conflict.

2. This is taught in Hos 8:7, which tells us that “we sow to the wind and reap the whirlwind.” Also in Gal 6:7-8, “Be not deceived, God is not mocked; whatever a person sows, this he shall also reap.”

E. The witness of Jeshurun in every generation of human history is a part of Jesus Christ controlling history. Jeshurun is the key to spiritual freedom, Ps 119:45, “I will seek freedom; for I seek Your doctrines.” Those who are positive to doctrine and continued with it are the ones who entered into Jeshurun. There is no freedom apart from knowledge of the truth, Jn 8:32.

F. Jesus Christ controls history through the preservation of planet earth and the entire universe which He created.

1. Col 1:16-17 tells us that Jesus Christ not only created the universe but holds it together and preserves it.

2. In Heb 1:3, Jesus Christ holds the universe together by the word of His power.

3. Heb 1:10 tells us that He created the universe.

G. Mankind does not have the power to destroy either the earth or the universe. The universe will not be destroy until the termination of human history by the Creator of it, the Lord Jesus Christ, 2 Pet 3:10-12. He will then create a new universe for the eternal state, 2 Pet 3:13.

H. Jeshurun is the key to spiritual freedom when everything else fails. Jeshurun existed in the Old Testament in every generation. The key to understanding freedom is understanding Bible doctrine.
